About this tool

Pick a symbol font and paste text — each letter is substituted with a themed Unicode symbol. See the FAQ for an important note on how this relates to the real proprietary Wingdings fonts.

Frequently asked questions

Does this use the actual proprietary Wingdings font?
No. Wingdings, Wingdings 2/3, and Webdings are proprietary Microsoft fonts whose exact glyph mappings aren't something we can license or reproduce pixel-for-pixel. Instead, each "font" here is a stylistic substitution using real, standard Unicode symbol blocks (dingbats, circled characters, arrows, and miscellaneous symbols) chosen to be thematically similar — it renders correctly in any browser without needing Wingdings installed, but it isn't a byte-exact reproduction of the original font.
Which characters get converted?
Letters a-z (case-insensitive); Wingdings 2 additionally converts digits 0-9 to circled numerals. Everything else (punctuation, spaces) passes through unchanged.
Is my text sent to your servers?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.
