WebCodeIn

Privacy Policy

A plain-language explanation of what WebCodeIn does — and doesn't do — with your data.

Last updated: 2026-09-02

The short version

Every tool on WebCodeIn processes what you paste, type, or upload entirely in your own browser. Your configuration, text, images, and files are never uploaded to our servers during normal use of a tool. We don’t require an account, and we don’t store anything you convert, generate, or transform.

What never leaves your browser

Every conversion and generation engine on this site runs as client-side JavaScript, including:

  • Anything pasted into a text area, converter, or formatter.
  • Files you upload for a client-side transform (images, PDFs, Word documents).
  • Generated output — citations, hashes, encoded/decoded text, QR codes, and so on.

None of the above is sent over the network to WebCodeIn or any third party as part of using a tool. See About for how that’s achieved architecturally.

What we do collect

WebCodeIn’s own infrastructure collects the minimum needed to operate the site:

  • Anonymous aggregate usage counters. A small number of tools report an event name and the format pair used (e.g. “YAML to .env”) to build a daily count per format pair. This never includes the content you converted, and can’t be traced back to you individually. Disable this in your browser by setting NEXT_PUBLIC_ANALYTICS_ENABLED=false if you’re self-hosting.
  • IP addresses, transiently. Server endpoints that accept a request (rather than running purely client-side) apply a short-lived, in-memory rate limit keyed by IP address to prevent abuse. These addresses are never logged alongside request content and are never written to a database.
  • Your theme and settings preferences (light/dark mode, custom-terms overrides) are stored only in your browser’s local storage — never sent to us.

Cookies and consent

WebCodeIn sets one cookie, wci_consent, to remember your cookie/advertising preferences once you make a choice in the consent banner. It holds only your preference (necessary/advertising/personalization/analytics on or off) and a timestamp — no personal data.

Advertising (Google AdSense) and third-party analytics (Google Analytics/Tag Manager) are supported by this architecture but are not currently active on this site. If and when they are enabled, they load only after respecting your consent choice, and visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland default to denied until you explicitly opt in. You can review or change your choice at any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer.

What we never do

  • We never store the configuration, text, or files you process with a tool.
  • We never store passwords, API keys, tokens, or other secrets.
  • We never sell or share personal data with third parties.
  • We don’t require an account or ask for your name or email to use any tool.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — for example, when advertising is actually enabled — this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change.
