About this tool

Frequently asked questions

How faithful is the conversion?
PDFs don't store real document structure — just positioned text. This tool reconstructs paragraphs from text position and guesses headings from font size (larger text becomes a heading). There's no bold/italic, list, or table detection, and multi-column layouts may come out interleaved. Treat it as a fast way to get plain, roughly-structured text out of a PDF, not a pixel-perfect conversion.
What's the file size limit?
10MB — plenty for a text-focused document; this keeps extraction fast and your browser tab responsive.
Does this work on scanned/image-only PDFs?
No — this extracts embedded text only, it doesn't run OCR. A scanned PDF with no text layer will produce empty or near-empty output.
Is my PDF sent to your servers?
No. The file is read and converted entirely in your browser — it's never uploaded anywhere.
